Another writing platform
I have been blogging online since 2012 on tumblr and have been keeping at it ever since. Most of what I write now are more thorough pieces than just a “blog” and as I’ve detailed before, it is done out of personal creative satisfaction than any attempt at making it a career. Video essays are all the rage now anyway, though the translation rate of views → patreon subscriber is only moderately better than views → ad revenue. I did always like the idea of a newsletter, a sort of text subscription hearkening back to when RSS readers were more popular (RIP Google Reader), though I would never create one until now. There are too many platforms to dedicate one’s full attention to these days, and even less so for those that support long form text work. I know Cohost has become popular though to me it is just tumblr2 though without the volume or history of posts which makes it confusing as to why people don’t just go back to tumblr, though maybe that’s just the loyalist in me. Maybe this will inspire me to put out short musings again, or maybe it’ll just be another outlet to copy and paste work I’ve been doing on a Doc that feels right to finally publish. I’ll also occasionally use this to re-up previously published stuff so apologies if you somehow end up re-reading something I’ve shared on Discord or Tumblr already. And as always, thank you for your time.
